Armaan Jamwal
Hi - My name is Armaan Jamwal. I am Fourth year student and currently pursuing a Bachelor of commerce with major in Management information systems.
I am always consistent with my studies but also like to enjoy life. I like to spend time with my friends and make meaningful memories. I am a practical person and I like to focus on the prominent parts of life. I am enthusiastic about my physical fitness as well as mental fitness. I am very keen about playing basketball. I like to keep my priorities straight and don’t compromise them over medial tasks. I like to look at the bigger picture but also enjoy the trivial moments of life.
I am from a very beautiful part of India known as Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India. I am fluent in three languages: Hindi, Punjabi, English. I respect all cultures and have had the opportunity to learn about many different cultures and religions through my school life. I am easily approachable and always eager to learn about things that require attention and educate me. I am socially aware, and I have been taught by my culture to respect everyone.
My vision is to succeed in this position as President and learn a lot of things from this experience. While writing this biography I recalled a very heartfelt quote by Anatole France “Nine tenths of education is encouragement.”

Ayaan Punjani
Hello hello! I am Ayaan Punjani, your Vice-President for the academic year 2025-26. Currently in my third year at UNBC, pursuing a double major in Accounting and International Business.
Before stepping into this role, I served as the EDI Counsellor for the academic year 2023-24, focusing on making our campus more inclusive and diverse. I also had the chance to serve as Director At Large for the academic year 2024-25, which gave me a great opportunity to work closely with the student community and develop my leadership skills.
As Vice-President, my goal is to create a student experience that is inclusive, engaging, and supportive. I’m excited to bring my knowledge and experiences into this role to help make positive changes that benefit everyone on campus.
When I’m not busy with school or NUGSS duties, you’ll find me enjoying time with friends, watching/playing sports, or doing anything else that brings me joy.
I’m excited for what’s to come this year, and I look forward to working with all of you to make it a year full of growth and great memories!

Prabhleen Binjee
Hi, I’m Prabhleen! , and I am committed to fostering an inclusive and vibrant student community. My journey has taken me from India to Surrey, Houston, and now Prince George, and along the way, I’ve learned the power of community, connection, and shared experiences. As a Biomedical Science student at UNBC with dreams of becoming a doctor, I’m deeply passionate about understanding people not just through science, but through meaningful conversations and collective growth.
I’ve always been drawn to leadership, whether it was organizing my first high school event, volunteering for university events or bringing people together through creative initiatives. There’s something special about watching an idea turn into an experience that brings people closer. Whether it’s planning an event, leading a discussion, or simply listening to someone’s story, I believe in making space for every voice to be heard.
Outside of academics and student involvement, I love meeting new people, exploring fresh perspectives, and embracing opportunities for personal growth. For me, community isn’t just about where you are it’s about the people who make it feel like home. And that’s exactly what I strive to create wherever I go.

Mikkel Navalta
My name is Mikkel Navalta, and I am currently a first-year student majoring in BioMedical Studies. I was born in the Philippines and have had the opportunity to live in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and finally Canada. These experiences have allowed me to meet and learn from people of various cultures, broadening my perspective.
In terms of professional experience, I’ve worked on organizing events in the Vancouver area, such as the UBC Storm the Wall event and the Port Moody Youth Symphony Orchestra. These opportunities have honed my ability to provide unbiased, unfiltered input and constructive criticism.
Outside of my studies, I enjoy playing instruments, like the Flute and Bass Guitar, for the Prince George Community Band and Immaculate Conception Parish, watching Formula 1, and spending quality time with friends and family both in and outside of Prince George.

Lizna Lakhani
Hey, I’m Lizna Lakhani, a third-year Biomedical Sciences student at UNBC. I’ve had the opportunity to explore diverse roles on campus, including working as a co-op student in mental health and well-being initiatives, representing my peers as a Student Senator for the Faculty of Human and Health Sciences, and mentoring new international students as they adjust to university life. I’m also an active member of multiple campus clubs, constantly seeking ways to contribute to the community.
I’m passionate about turning my varied experiences into impactful action in student governance. Through my contributions to the strategic plan and advocacy for better support systems, I’ve learned the importance of listening to students and ensuring their voices shape the decisions that affect our university experience. As a recipient of the Leadership Award at UNBC, I’m driven to take this passion for advocacy further, ensuring that student representation leads to real change.
Collaboration is at the core of what I do. By bringing together diverse perspectives, we can create lasting impact. Whether reviewing policies or addressing concerns, I’m excited to contribute my experience, energy, and yes, my slightly concerning enthusiasm for sticky notes. Sayyab Ali Chaudhary is a second-year accounting student at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). Coming from Lahore, Pakistan, a city known for its vibrant culture and welcoming people, Sayyab carries the warmth and friendliness of "hearty Lahoris." As a skilled chess player, Sayyab earned the title of runner-up in the Lahore Chess Championship, reflecting a passion for strategy and competition. Balancing academic responsibilities with personal interests, Sayyab is committed to continuous growth in studies and life.

Riva Ayaz Manjiyani is a second-year computer science student at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). An accomplished athlete, skilled violinist, singer, and professional dancer, Riva has always embraced discipline, creativity, and perseverance in all aspects of her life.
Beyond her personal achievements, Riva is deeply committed to making a positive impact on society. She has worked with numerous organizations that focus on improving quality of life and promoting inclusivity, reflecting her passion for social change. Her experiences have shaped her into a strong advocate for equity and diversity, striving to create environments where everyone feels valued and empowered.

Jayesh Wadhwani
DHello everyone! My name is Jayesh Wadhwani, and I’m excited to run for the Council of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (CEDI) again. Over the past year, I’ve worked to create meaningful initiatives that celebrate diversity and foster an inclusive campus.
Beyond CEDI, I’ve been actively involved in student leadership, including the UNBC JDC West team and my role at the Career Centre, where I help students with career development. I’ve also organized events like the Diwali-themed mini exhibition and International Week, promoting cultural awareness and student engagement.
If re-elected, I will continue advocating for equity-focused initiatives, stronger student representation, and a more inclusive UNBC community. Let’s build a campus where everyone feels heard and valued.

Arijit Barua
Arijit Barua is a student at the University of Northern British Columbia, pursuing a dual degree in human resources and management information systems. Passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion, he actively engages in initiatives that foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for students.
Having lived in Prince George for over two years, Arijit values community engagement, mentorship, and advocacy. As a mentor at UNBC, he helps new students adjust to university life, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported. His background in marketing and content creation has also given him a strong understanding of communication and outreach—key skills for promoting inclusivity.

Frank Samnani
My name is Frank Samnani, and I was born in Hyderabad, India. I grew up in a loving household with my mom, dad, and younger brother. Our family life was filled with warmth and support, and I cherish the memories we created together.
I spent almost ten years at the Aga Khan Academy in Hyderabad. My time there was transformative, as I had the opportunity to grow in a nurturing environment. I graduated in 2022, paving the way for my journey to Canada.
Now, I’m majoring in Wildlife and Fisheries at the University of Northern British Columbia. The transition to university life has been both exciting and challenging, and I’m eager to dive deeper into the sciences and get into research as a career path.
In addition to my studies, I have a passion for sports. I love playing football and basketball, but I enjoy engaging in a variety of other sports as well. Being active not only keeps me fit but also allows me to connect with others and build lasting friendships through teamwork.
As I look to the future, I am filled with excitement as to what awaits me in both my personal and professional lives.

I have taken a couple student volunteer roles and have been a part of the student council previously in school back in my home country.
